10th Annual SD Strong Ale Fest: Poured a clear dark brown color with a ruby tint and small off-white head. Some Belgian yeasty estery character. The flavor was some nice fruity esters over a toffee malt base. Notes of golden raisins, apples and a sweet finish. Medium bodied. The alcohol is well hidden.

Sample from a 3 liter bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan diminishing head. Smells of sugar and dark fruit. Taste is of sugar, syrup, dark fruit and very boozy. Finish is lightly peppery. Not terrible, but not a quad.

Sweet nose with litle depth. Underattenuated sticky sweet palate with no depth. Huge candy sugar on the palate, with a very cloying finish.

From 3 Liter bottle, shared by DarkElf - thanks for the chance at this! Pours a mahogany color and clear with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, molasses with hints of maple, tart fruit and a bit of spice. Flavor is quite sweet, brown sugar, prunes, hints of rich brown bread. Full, thick body, gentle and creamy carbonation. This was interesting and quite good, but seems it would benefit from some age.

Pours with a deep red-brown body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and full of malt and dark fruits. Full bodied, warming and smooth.

Multiple samples, GABF 2006. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel), with notes of banana, clove, sugar. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Overwhelming sweetness, simple as a whole. Not compelling.
