Black beer with a half-inch of brown foam. Aroma is roasted malt and a touch of chocolate. Flavor is chocolate and roasted malt, but a bit thin. Finish is bitter and a bit sweet.

Dark brown with no head. Faint chocolate aroma. Robust roastiness and bitter chocolate taste with coffee notes in the finish.

This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of foamy bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body. . The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of dark malt and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Bottle. Dark nearly black colour with a nice head. Aroma of coffee and little roastedness. Nice tasty flavour of coffee and little chocolate. Becomes very smooth and with a high drinkability

Pours a very dark brown color with a ring of tan bubbles on the surface. Amazing milk chocolate aroma with some roasted grains, graham cracker, and sweetness. Flavors are of super dark malts, sugar, definitely a lot of chocolate, a hint of coffee, and a fair amount of bitterness. Definitely a full-bodied stout, had a very creamy texture and was lightly carbonated. Awesome stuff!!

This is why I love stout. Pours like liquid chocolate; chocolaty brown with a small brown frothy head. Smell is a bit. . . bright? Not what I expect from a stout. I smell caramel apples and floral arrangements. Taste is subtle yet full (if that makes any sense.) Flavors of chocolate and toffee with some sour malts coming though in the finish. Very smooth and drinkable. Mouthfeel is velvety, but just a bit watery for a stout. All in all, a wonderful beer to come home to after a long hard day at work.

Pours thick and black w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Superb hangtime w/ lace. Aromas of deeply roasted chocolate malts. Full nectar w/ very few yet soft and creamy residual effers. The texture is fat and silky. This brew is heavily roasted w/ a big fat ass. With only a mild sweetness the malts devide the day w/ it’s decadent nature. It’s thick and chewy, heavily roasted, w/ defined coffee bean/ cocoa essence. There is a persistant hop profile that sticks the whole sip from start to finish. The finish is long w/ a deep seated asprin burn that lingers.

Pours with a three-finger thick, lightly cascading, frothy, creamed chocolate brown colored head that leaves some lacing patterns on the side of the glass as it recedes. The beer is a simple black color as it sits in the glass, but shows some brilliantly clear, rich ambered, dark brown colors when held up to the light. Rich, dark malt aromatic notes of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, toasted grain, browned biscuits and richly roasted soda crackers are all immediately noticeable in the nose. This really has a richly satisfying, dark, roasted malt character to it that is a joy to stick your schnozz in to.

Rich tasting, with a creamy, medium full mouthfeel that is quite effective in coating the palate with out being too thick, and is certainly not cloying. The sweet malt notes offset notes of blackened toffee, milk chocolate and dark chocolate; it reminds me at times of chocolate malt ball candies. Solid burnt malt characteristics of darkly roasted coffee, a light burnt grain acidity. This really has a nice balance between the smoother malt characteristics of chocolate and browned malt sugars with the sharper roasted notes of coffee and burnt acidity; the smoother notes have the edge here, which really helps out with the overall drink-ability of this brew.

This is a deeply satisfying brew, it is certainly not an Imperial Stout, but is on the rich side for a stout. Still quite drinkable, though it certainly is not thirst quenching; the mouthfeel is a touch too creamy and rich for that. I have had this beer a couple times and each time I have really enjoyed it; it has really nice balance of flavors and heft that just really works and makes for a flavorful, favorable drinking experience.
