Poured, or should I say, tried to pour into my Delirium tulip glass. The cap popped with plenty of carbonation. However, this thing was all head when I tried to pour it. Over half the glass was head that just would not go away. It took me literally 15 minutes to pour this and it still has a solid 1/2 inch head. Smell is a light coffee, with some sort of a funky, yeasty fruit smell. Taste is a very strong coffee flavor. This is a very carbonated beer. It almost has a "belgian" carbonation to it. It’s that carbonated. The mouthfeel is nice, but a little thin for a stout. This is a decent sessionable stout. Nothing to seek out and hunt down. An average stout.

Bottle. Black with small tan lacing type head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, and roasted malts. The taste was the same with slightly fizzy cardonation. Smooth with slight bitter finish. Very Good, better than I thought it would be.

Shared a bottle of this with my family at my brothers while celebrating Chistmas a few days early. This is one easy drinking stout. It looks good, smells good and tastes good. Nothing wrong with that. Pours out a jet black body with a nice, thick tan head. The aroma’s biggest character is the roast coffee. Tons of roast in this, along with some toffee and dark chocolate but it was kinda hard to tell because of the strength of the roast aroma. Flavors were very strong at first and then it sort of mellowed out on the back end of things. Roasted malts, sweet, a bit of dark chocolate but I thought the overall finish was a little lacking. Plus, the body was a little watery also. I like to have my stouts have a little more substance, but this still wasn’t bad. Easy drinking for sure."

Looking at the ratings, personally I think this beer is over-rated. It’s not a bad beer, but it’s nothing special. Pours is dark brown/black with small tan head. Flavors of chocolate, funky fruit flavor, coffee, and roasted malt. Maybe a tiny bit of noticable hops. Mouthfeel is thin. Seems quite watery to me even for a regular stout, although the flavor is enjoyable.

I had this from a 22 Oz bottle. Poured dark with a nice tan head. Aroma was sweet and malty, of coffee and chocolate. Flavor was nice as well, wasn’t too sweet and it was a bit bitter, an ok brew overall.

22 oz bottle. Pours a medium bodied dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee and cocoa. Taste is similiar to an oatmeal stout. Semi sweet with a bit of nut taste. Smooth finish with out much of a hop flavor. Not bad but nothing spectacular.

Draft at the Bistro BA Brew Fest 11/11/06; Barrel aged for the fest! Nose of chocolate malts, roastiness, and Oak! opaque black with a ring of tan bubbles; flavor was tart semisweet chocolate, a little coffe, and a hop finish.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, biegaman, and GregClow, courtesy of Blankboy. Pitch black, really neat foamy beige head. Lots of chocolate malt, roast, hops and tons of milk chocolate in aroma - awesome. Taste - good - heavy roast bitterness, lots of coffee. Mouthfeel is a little thin - I wanted this one to be thick and creamy to contain and enhance all of these flavours. Short finish. Ok taste, great aroma.
