Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, biegaman & tupalev -- my bottle. Pours near-black with ruby hues and a large lasting light-brown head. Aroma of sweet and roasted malt, chocolate, light hops and coffee -- quite nice. Flavour is sweet and has a nice roastness to it along with creamy chocolate, coffee and a bitter finish. Alcohol’s well hidden. Medium to full bodied, creamy mouthfeel. A very good Stout.

Bottle shared with biegaman, blankboy, tupalev & HogTownHarry - courtesy of blankboy. Dark ruby-black with a large tan head. Sweet roasted malt aroma, with notes of coffee & cream, and a mild tartness in the background. Body is a bit thin for a stout, but the flavour is bang-on - dry roasted malt, fresh ground coffee, a hint of bitter cocoa. Just noticed the 7.1% up there - this didn’t seem that stong at all. Quite a good stout.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with biegaman, blankboy, GregClow and tupalev, blankboy’s bottle. Black pour with ruby highlights, huge fluffy tan lasting head. Deep sweet roast malt aroma, hint of mint, coffee and chocolate, light hops. Taste is similar, just a little lighter, more mint leaf and less hops. Average body, incredibly lively mouthfeel, long sweet/bitter finish. Very nice..

Huge hiss as the cap comes off and an exploding head that blankets the snifter. Underneath lies a fairly opaque, inky black body. Deep, decadent chocolate greets the olfactory with a score of smoked applewood. Crème brulee with a dark chocolate dust, blackened pecan abrasiveness and cedar used in place of grahams for a gooey, sweet, s’more motif bring the nose to a close. Extreme, overcarbonated flare embarks aridly on the palate with a stinging mineral feel that leaves its mark on the way out. Belgian effervescence tweedle dees with ash-crested sandalwood. Black patent is present with a dry, burnt, bulk bag of unrefined oats flavor, with some dusty grist sneaking out of the burlap with each sip. Broiler fried fundraiser dark chocolate squares are unable to make the leap into savory satisfaction because it’s confined in an academic cage. Unrefined espresso beans lay forgotten on the countertop until, one day, a hammer came along. The aftermath consists of dry, sugar-starved black oats and minimally matchstick flicked chocolate bricks. Thanks for the bomber, tpkenned!

Courtesy of my wife for lugging this back from San Fran. Pleasant aroma offers vanilla, chocolate, dark roasted malt and mild chocolate in a excellent concentration and progression. Body is flat black and holds a creamy, thumb thick, mocha head that diminishes slowly leaving tree ring like lacing. First sip is creamy and holds a vanilla twinged flavor that gives way to coffee and bitter roasted notes. Finish is quite bitter and balances the sweet middle flavors of the beer well. Tasty. Get yourself a bottle!

22 oz bottle via Liquid Solutions. Pours a midnight black with an average size tan head. NOSE IS of coffee, espresso, vanilla, chocolate and more coffee. Taste is the same, lots of coffee with some chocolate and vanilla underneath....but mostly coffee on top. Thin/medium body, silky mouthfeel, are there any oats here? I think i taste a few. Very nice easy to drink any time of the day or night Stout.

22 oz bottle, via dhlesq. Pours a clear black colored body with a little light passing through the edges. Head is fizzy, foamy, and dark brown in color. Aroma is nicely roasty with a good dose of chalk and coffee. A light hoppiness as well. Flavor is very roasty, bordering on burnt. Notes of coffee, chalk, and dark fruits. Slightly sour and astringent on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and fairly watery in texture. The carbonation is very fizzy, foamy, and quite unpleasant. Overall, this was pretty decent, but the mouthfeel was a real issue for me.
