Thanks to Odeed for this - pours nearly black, with a big ’ol, root beer float lookin’ head - quite a yeasty aroma for a stout, with considerable roasted notes, some bready/pastry smells - quite light and session-like for the abv - this has hints of dark chocolate and anise in proportions that remind me of Rogue Shakespeare Stout - fairly dry, with some black coffee near the finish, and a gentle spiciness at the end - a solid stout, but let’s face it, there are lots of great stouts out there, and this does nothing to single itself out.

Bottle pours a clear black with a huge light tan head. Some slightly sour dark roast aroma, like a porter. Flavor was again porter-like. Dark roasted, smokey enough, but not quite robust or heac\vy enough for a serious stout. Gold medal winner at ’89 GABF? Hmmm. Thanks Jordan for sharing.

Coffee and roastiness definitely the emphasis here, some light bitter chocolate also showing up,had the creaminess and initial light sweetness of an oatmeal stout, but with all the roastiness and coffee finished up like a dry stout. Despite the creaminess, body was a touch thin, which made it very drinkable on a hot summer night

22oz bottle via my Secret Santa! - Thanks! - Pours black with a large foamy three finger tan head that held pretty well and laced the glass. Aromas of big roasted malts, a touch of coffee, some light chocolate, and some light hops. Flavor is sweet with chocolate but also big with roasted malts and light coffee. Nice lingering sweet finish. Good creamy and airy mouthfeel with medium body. A little bit of hop flavor at the finish but mostly sweetness. Pretty solid stout here.

HWOH. No Idea who brought this. Black body with a foamy tan head with some lace. Aroma is fruity esters, light coffee, lots of roast and chocolate, medium citrus hop presence and some sweet caramel malts. Flavro is sweet upfront then goes to a dry roasted character mixed with more fruit, some light oxidation and finishes off lightly bitter but relatively smooth.
