Dark color which doesn’t allow light to pass through. Very roasty flavor which stays on the pallete for awhile. One of my favorite brews when I go over to Marin Brewing Company. Couldn’t believe I hadn’t rated it yet! No doubt I’ll buy it again! ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Sweetish malt aroma. Fairly black pour with light, caramel head. Sour malt flavor with a madeira like quality. Slight bitterness at the swallow. Fairly disappointing. Thanks to herbjones for the sample. Schultsc (483), Henderson, Nevada, USA

Has lots of roasted flavors, a touch of sweetness with quite a bit of fruitiness. Good flavor--some coffee, some chocolate, with a unique yeast flavor as well. Not run-of-the-mill at all. Well-balanced and interesting offering. Tom Servo (424), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2005 Very dark. Extremely dark. Has an extremely charcoal-y flavor to it. Almost no head to it, and has no lace on the glass. Malty flavors abound, and has a nice mocha finish to it. Very nice.
