Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, chocolate, roast, and a little bit of peanuts. Taste of more roast and chocolate, some cherries as well with a soft mouthfeel.

Pours deep and dark in color. Aroma is roasted malts up front. Also smells of chocolate and coffee with cream. Flavor is roasted malts and some sweetness. Followed by a slight bitter kick. Kind of sour towards the end of the bomber.

Bottled. Dark black, rich creamy head. Aroma of coffee and plums. Raisiny and fairly full bodied with smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Loads of cocoa. Sweet and rather one-dimensional.

GABF 2004: Pours a clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Grainy, earthy, malty aroma has some mild roasty notes. Body is mild and smooth, but boring and not as thick as I’d prefer. Hides its alcohol well, but really needs some more body and balance.
