Jan 15, 2005 Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, chocolate, roast, and a little bit of peanuts. Taste of more roast and chocolate, some cherries as well with a soft mouthfeel.

Nov 24, 2004 Pours deep and dark in color. Aroma is roasted malts up front. Also smells of chocolate and coffee with cream. Flavor is roasted malts and some sweetness. Followed by a slight bitter kick. Kind of sour towards the end of the bomber.

Oct 20, 2004 Bottled. Dark black, rich creamy head. Aroma of coffee and plums. Raisiny and fairly full bodied with smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Loads of cocoa. Sweet and rather one-dimensional.

Oct 11, 2004 GABF 2004: Pours a clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Grainy, earthy, malty aroma has some mild roasty notes. Body is mild and smooth, but boring and not as thick as I’d prefer. Hides its alcohol well, but really needs some more body and balance.
