| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2009 A- Pours the darkest of browns, with a moderate brown foamy head and consistent sticky lacing throughout
S- Nose dominated by cocoa/chocolate, some coffee and vanilla tones as well, cant catch too much in the way of hops
T- Taste begins with a nice combination of chocolate and espresso, some roasty feeling and finishing with a mild bite of bitter dry hops
M- Medium/heavy bodied stout, good carbonation, but I think the texture is too watery for a stout
D- Nice and smooth drinking stout, this is a solid offering that unfortunately lacks any sort of boldness or uniqueness, being a fan of the more imperial styles of stouts, I doubt I would go out of my way to pick up this middle-of-the-road offering again in the future homeslice (36), , California, USA

Non heavy and smooth. alexanderj (2286), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Bottle; christmas present. Poured a dark color that looked thick in the more. Head was small, but long lasting; brown in color. Aroma was nice with cocoa, roasted malt, caramel and fruit, all tied together with a coffee presence. Flavor was dominated by coffee and a general earthiness. Not as balanced as I thought it would be based on the aroma. However, it was generally tasty. Some caramel and roasted tones; with a slight fruit presence in the finish. Maybe those latter elements are illusory though. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Black color with a decent latte colored head. Fitting name as it contains aromas of coffee and oatmeal. Coffee flavors with a hop bitterness to balance the sweet malt.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Pouring virtually black, with faint glints of mahogany at the far reaches, the body is capped with a foamy, dark brown head. Minimal, spotty lacing marks the glass. The aroma is dry and roasty, notes of dark cocoa, scorched barley, and rich coffee showing well. A hint of burnt caramel sweetness shows on a deep inhale, as does some estery yeast. Flavors show more of the same, dark, bitter roast dominating all else, with just a touch of balancing cocoa and caramel sweetness. The yeast is quite lactic, which contributes to the dryness of the semi-full, smooth body. This is quite a nice stout, particularly for those who prefer dry, roasty character to overwhelming sweetness. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 25, 2008 Pours black with a gigantic tan head, one of the biggest I have ever seen. Heavy roasted malt aroma with a huge roast, coffee and chocolate taste. A solid roasted aftertaste rolls around on the tongue long after you have quaffed it all Excellent stout.
