22oz bottle. Black with a creamy mocha tan head. Really roasty aroma with a hint of smoke and dusted dark chocolate truffles. The flavor is pretty dry, with a roast-bitter finish, but low astringency and burnt character. Definitely has a nice smooth mouthfeel going on, but honestly feels pretty thin for its strength. Not bad, but uneventful.

Sample at Alan’s HSC initation. Thanks Rogueone for sharing! This beer is nearly black with a thick and foamy rootbeer float-looking head that bubbles away slowly. Spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and a touch of smoke. Medium, smooth body with flavors of malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Smoky character in the flavor as well. The finish is bittersweet chocolate with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sampled at Alan’s HSC initiation: Nice pour, aroma is sweet caramel malts, chocolate. Flavor has a very nice smoky character to it, accentuating the dryness of the chocolate malts. Some burnt milk in there. Very nice, memorable stout.

Bottle at home (Thanks to Sune for shipping this to us) - shared with Mette. Black - brown head. Hard roasted, burned, licorice, english sweet licorice, very dry, light lactose notes. Very nice.

22 oz. bottle - unfairly opened alongside lost abbey serpent’s stout, but a very nice stout nevertheless; pours dark brown and clear along the edges; a little fizzy; aromas of chocolate and roasted malts are a little on the mild side; smooth, medium body and drinks with a nice creamy roastiness

22 oz bomber shared with the Fight Night Drinking Crew. Pours a thin looking black with a small light beige head. Roasty aroma with notes of chocolate and floral hops. Thin bodied with light carbonation. Flavor is mild chocolate and towards the sour side. Wasn’t a big fan of this one.

Bottle at after4ever’s tasting.

Pours near-black with orange-brown highlights and a thin head. A bit chalky on the aroma, dark coffee. A bit thin in the mouthfeel and a bit thin on the flavor, especially given the 7% abv that this one is packing. Mild sweet chocolate, mild bitterness, quite drinkable but otherwise unexceptional.

Not exceptional but a good, solid stout. Almost black with a deep brown head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, toasted almonds. Flavor shared the same components. Started sweet and ended with a coffee bitterness. Nice.
