Aroma is espresso, chocolate, and some general malt sweetness. Flavor is the same elements, with moderate levels of sweetness. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. A good stout, if you like them on the sweet and rich side.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Bottle thanks to BigErn! Dark brown (almost black) pour, little carbonation and an aroma of peat and smoke. Flavor is very sweet cocoa, vanilla, lactose and a little malty, watery and smoky on the finish. Interesting beer. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom. This beers floods a little – or at least the foam keeps coming out of the bottle. The beer is black and the head is a bit big-bubbly and light brown. The aroma has notes of coffee, oatmeal and chocolate. The flavor is smooth and sweetish with notes of roasted oats, coffee, chocolate and caramel. It’s very clean and very harmonic in the soft flavor – just like I like it! JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Thanks to EDA for this one. Dark black beer. Nose is loaded with coffee and a little bit of roasted barley. Some nice sweet along with a bit of cocoa on the back. Light licorice, but without the heavy saltiness that often comes with that element. Nicely sweet and fairly tasty. Bigmmartin (371), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Dry, bitter finish. Well done. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA

Pours a deep brown with a moderate mocha head that quickly dissipates. Initial aroma of dark chocolate and vanilla malts followed by smoke. Flavor of pipe smoke, roasted nuts, and dark chocolate malts. Medium body and a bitter finish. I feel like I just smoked a pipe.
