Not a bad beer, but I would have liked some more wheat flavor and/or dryness reflecting the fact it was a wheat beer. Crystal clear and pale golden color but tastes very much like a barleywine, hoppy with a bittersweet finish.

The body is a hazy yellow with a very small head. The aroma is heavy wheat and malt with a bit of lemon syrup in grass. The body is thick and the flavor definitely sweet. An interesting barlewine.

Hazy peach-yellow hue with a short, white, frothy head. Orange, peaches, alcohol, bread, apple. Heavily sweet, moderately acidic flavor becomes a moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter finish. Medium-heavy body, oily texture, lively carbonation, moderate alcohol. The bottom line is: very fruity nose (esters and hops) but nothing that really smacked me across the face and made me pay attention.

Hazy tangerine juice in color, assuming tangerine juice is made. Large, creamy white head with good density for such a big beer. Smells of apricots and papayas soaked in diluted vodka. Taste is fruit-filled, strongly alcoholic with notes of banana peels and honey covered apricots. Not very good. Cloying & malt liquorish.

Toasted oats and alcohol with nice spice and hops nose. Well rounded great mouthfeel. Most likely both malted and unmalted wheat. Nice fruit and herbal tones. Apricot, peach passion fruit and plantain. good hopping balances the residual sugars. Good bitterness with some floral aspect. well done very approacable wheat wine. Great to lay down for a couple years.

2003 Batch (10% ABV) and sampled in a Aventinus glass, it’s a big wheat bier right? The pour produced a huge frothy head on top of a golden hued beer with more than a few floaties, very good lace. The aroma had a big note of phenols which under the wheaty, lemongrass, clove and pepper can be found, different for sure, I think I like it though. The taste starts a tad fruity and displays some wheat brew qualities but then was quickly subdued by the high level of alcohol and a surprising malt base. The finish is shockingly bitter and biting. Wow this is NOT your standard definable beer; not a wheat ale; not a barleywine; nor a strong ale either. That said, whatever is is I like it but couldn’t see me drink it more that once or twice a year. A must try for those seeking something out of the ordinary. Many thanks Kinz for hook-up.
