This brew pours with a golden body topped by a thick, lasting head wtih lots of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and fruity wtih a note of honey and an underlying bitterness. Medium bodied and smooth.

Bottle. 2004 Vintage. Unfiltered pale goldn beer with a thin white film. Malty aroma (? for a triple wheat ?) with some citrus and spice and alcohol. Thick, ruch doughy mouthfeel, but somehow very refreshing. You can taste the alcohol presence, but it’s refreshing enough (or I’m thirsty enough) to keep drinking. Honey, malt, wheat with some surprising hops.

2001: Smells and tastes like a barley wine. Medium to large bubbles. Carmel, apple, and apricot notes. Finish is more bitter than most barley wines. Kind of like a wheat/barleywine/IPA.

Alcohol, dried fruit, granola are in the aroma. Light color body for a barleywine. Very subtle for a Barleywine, nice and smooth. Alcohol is well covered. Taste is honey, caramel, alcohol. Pretty good.

Big sweet bubble gum and wheat nose. Full mouthfeel with flavors of sweet malt, wheat, banana, gum, sugar, vanilla, and cream. Finishes big and wheaty.

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie), moderately hoppy (resin, pine), with notes of peach and alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Typical west coast aroma, but fairly well balanced.

Not what I was expecting from a wheat beer, but the Baley Wine description explains it better. Very malty and flavourful with some citrus hopping.
