Lubiere (3524), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2008 Copper amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweetish malts with notes of iodine, and cinnamon notes. In mouth, a sweet lightly spiced caramel malt, fusel alcohol, short in mouth. Not very good. Early 2007. AaronBouchard (107), Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Nov 17, 2007 Updated: Nov 23, 2007I must say I don’t enjoy the aroma it smells kinda like wet dog. An intresting amber colour. It looks like a beer that would have a big rich taste but honestly it really dosent and I like that. It is kind of sweet and has a pleasent aftertaste. Pretty decent find JRHBrew (181), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Jul 23, 2007 One of the 2 beers that wasn’t brewed by Gahan that I tried while in PEI. Very odd beer. I liked it for all the wrong reasons. pootzboy (910), Calgary/ Kitchener, Alberta, Canada Aug 30, 2006 One of the Ice house ales I encountered in Lunenberg paired up with a plate of oysters.
Poured a bright copper color with a 1 finger tan cap fair retention and lacing.....very mild aroma; smokey caramel and some grass. Medium body fair malt spine smokey-sweet character mild mouth feel.
Started sweetish, caramel, friuty, then a tad of toast and smoke, fast wet clean finish and mild biscuit after tastes.
One of the best commercial beers I have tasted in NS. daboskabouter (1469), Fergus, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2006 This actually poured an alright colour when I wasn’t drinking it from the bottle. Nice bright amber colour with a frothy white short-lasting head. The aroma is slightly fruity with a sweet malty presence. The body is fine - slightly on the sweet side with a mild hop presence. At least it’s clean.
