Commercial Description:
Golden in color, light and refreshing with a citrus flavor, Clipper is bolder than most N.W. wheat beer. Made with malted wheat, pale barley malt and quality European hops.

draft - a good looking wheat ale with nice white head and cloudy body; nice aromas too, but flavors fall short

On Tap at Maritime Pacific Seattle. Pours out a cloudy straw color topped with a fluffy white head. A very nice wheat aroma. A little light malt on it not bad.

On Tap at the Jolly Roger. Hazy pale yellow with a thin creamy whiye head. Soft wheat and light malt aroma. This is fairly americanized as the German yeast character is very subtle. Modest carbonation and a crisp palate. Decent for what it is with my onion rings.

Draught at the Jolly Roger in Seattle. Colored like cloudy urine. Nothing too exciting. Mellow citrus flavor keeps it interesting.

On tap. Cloudy yellow with minimal head. Aroma is light with some lemon and wheat. Malty and slightly wheaty but not very aggressive for the style.

After a long winter of IPA’s & Stouts, it was nice to sit back and have a smooth tasting Hefe (might be why I rated higher than others). Great looking cloudy unfiltered gold. Lacing held throughout as did sweet flavor. Very fresh w/lemon slice at Jeckle and Hyde Ale House.

Draft at the Fremont Classic Pizzeria. Dark cloudy lemon yellow with a small, sudsy white head. Decent aroma of bananas, but not much more--same could be said of the flavor profile of the mid-palate. Decently assertive attack; medium body and active carb, flavors aren’t totally docile. This is a nice drinkable, relatively flavorful American wheat. No excitement here, but under 3 means drainpour, give or take, to me. And I’d happily drink a pint of this on purpose if circumstances dictated.

Cloudy golden with no head. Lemon and a little wheat aroma. Lots of malt in this. Not very refreshing.
