Commercial Description:
Golden in color, light and refreshing with a citrus flavor, Clipper is bolder than most N.W. wheat beer. Made with malted wheat, pale barley malt and quality European hops.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours opaque hazy gold with straw highlights and bright white head. Classic look with some sheet lacing to boot. The aroma is mild with grain malts, a hint of wheat and a vague hoppiness. The taste is non-wheat maltiness up front with hints of grainy malts and faint wheat. The wheatiness does grow to go along with notes of ripe banana and a hint of bubble gum as the finish approaches. I also get a hop bite tingling away in the background. Pretty nice hefe.

After a long winter of IPA’s & Stouts, it was nice to sit back and have a smooth tasting Hefe (might be why I rated higher than others). Great looking cloudy unfiltered gold. Lacing held throughout as did sweet flavor. Very fresh w/lemon slice at Jeckle and Hyde Ale House.

A nice cloudy beer that is pretty surprisingly unwheaty. Flavor is light, downable and good. Simple yet drinkable.

Some banana, good malt accent. This was a regular at Archer’s Ale House in Bellingham and I always wondered why...until I tasted it.

A very strong hefeweizen, with a sour aroma and a flavor that I could only describe as slighty souring pinapple. If Widmer Brother’s is a smooth Hefeweizen, this is perhaps a little opposite, offering a more alternative flavor charecter inherrant in quite a few Maritime brews. Definately an experience, but not nessasarily refreshing.

Cloudy yellow, nice white head. Very yeasty, bready, banana-y or pineapple-y aroma. Smooth, soft palate. Very enjoyable, very quaffable. Nice fruity, yeasty and fruity notes throughout.

Tap at Taphouse Grill. Hazy yellow gold. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and light spice, Sweet and wheaty, light fruit in the finish. Banana and lemon. Soft to medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking ale.

draft - a good looking wheat ale with nice white head and cloudy body; nice aromas too, but flavors fall short
