Commercial Description:
Hoppy, crisp, and citrusy, with an underlying malt character. Made by blending lots of malted barley, wheat, and a judicious quantity of Cascade hops. A "big" beer!

Appearance: cloudy orange, wispy dirty white head, streaks of drippy lace
Aroma: dry crystal malt aroma with floral and earthy hops
Flavor: sweet crystal malt flavor, lots of bready character, earthy and floral hops plus a touch of citrus, sweet butterscotch
Overall: the butterscotch gives it an English IPA character, but too many hops makes it American

Hazy straw. Grapefruity, lemony aroma. Light pale malt with peachy notes. Fairly bitter. Clean and balanced, in that PNW sort of way.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a deeper golden color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, wet grass, earthy, and a little spicy. Tastes of citrus, spicy, and somewhat earthy. More bitter than sweet. Thin for an IIPA.

Tap@The Jolly Roger. I ahd two versions of this beer, the regualr one and also a double dry hopped vesrion called "Double Dry Hoppy Imperial IPA". Both version were from the Jolly Roger and bothe were on tap. The regular was typical of an Imperial IPA. Very hoppy, heaps of lychee and pine, pretty sweet, with the hops of course bittering it out a bit. The double hopped vesrion i also scored exactly the same, but this was perhaps maybe a touch dryer and definitely more hoppy and bitter, both versions were tasty.

Cask version, marks as above Just hazy honey-yellow beer, persistent white head. Nice flowery, honeyish and grapefruit hoparoma’s. Very nice nose, something perfumey or bathtub-filler notwithstanding. Flowery, but not very assertive hoppiness in the taste, with obvious grapefruit flavour. Traces of diacetyl, not disturbing. Grapefruit zeste retronasal. Not very big bodied, but makes it more drinkable, even refreshing. Ah, so they CAN make cask ale, if they want. Quite OK IPA, just... why "Imperial"?
Keg Nearly clear orange-amber; good stable, small just off-white head. 4 Grapey hops, biscuity (the cookies, not oxydized) aroma. 7 Bitterness is "delayed action", as first impression is sweet, then metallic bitterness kicks in. 7 Harsh, metallic resiny impression and feel 3 OK IPA, but again the delayed action diminishes it, specially in MF. 14 = 3.5

Pours amber with a rocky head. Smells of citrus, some malt. Tastes bitter and dry with some resiny touches. Not much going on here.
