Commercial Description:
Dark amber in color, Nightwatch is smooth and mellow with a subtle roast flavor and gentle hopping from Mt. Hood and Saaz hops. A true Northwestern original-style ale.

From the bottle

Red-brown and slightly hazy with a fine tan head. The aroma is marzipan and toasted malt, and the flavor is mellow and rounded complex of malts with definite expresso notes and very restrained hops. Both the palate and the finish are exceptionally smooth

While this is neither a typical amber ale (more like a brown ale) nor is it my favorite style, I’ve got to say that this is a very well crafted beer.

Clear brown colur with ruby highlites and thin tan head. Slight roasted malt nose. Slight tinny start roasted malt finish taste.

Bottle: Dark brown in color, slight burnt orange tinge, large foamy light beige head, attractive lacing.   This look more like a Dunkles than an Amber.   Toasted malt nose... <thinking> very subtle chocolate and coffee it seems.   Soft malt flavor, not as strong as I would have thought based on its color.   Very smooth too.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Dark malty finish, smooth, very well balanced.   A local favorite, and I can see why.

Tangy fruit aroma with some mild grain. Beautiful deep amber in color. Fluffy head that quickly dissipates. Slightly roasted flavor, some old world hops and nice sweetness. Quick finish. This is a tasty beer, reminiscent of an alt. If you are not in the mood for a hop monster, this is a nice treat. I like these guys’ brews.

ruby mahogany with off white head & lots of lacing. The aroma is lightly roasty with some chocolate & fruit. The flavor is balanced like a mild or a schwarzbier. tasty! finishes light & sweet with some residual hops.

Tap@The Jolly Roger. Caramel and toast are the main flavours, failry hoppy finish. Not much else to report other than it was a fairly pleasnt ale.
