Had a dark black look with a foaming head. Taste was very smooth with a hint of raspberry. Great beer, great place. Braudog (3780), Dayton, Ohio, USA

This is an excellent fruit beer in disguise. Lightly bitter, the raspberry flourish is the predominate flavor. A very interesting and well-balanced porter, set apart for sure! | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Probably the best beer that they make. 20 oz pour at the pub. Pours a nice moslty clear deep brown with amber highlights and a nice creamy lasting light tan head. Aroma is initially light to moderate with raspberry then as it warms you get a nice nutty chocolate malt profile, toasty and buscuity with a nice light estery hint. Good warming biscuit and chocolate malts with the obvious raspberry flavor but it isnt overwhelming and works very well in a porter surprisingly. Good mouthfeel and clean smooth finish. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

Very nice aroma of semi-sweet chocolate, berries, and mild coffee. Flavors were chocolate chips, dark berries, roasted malts, vanilla, and very mild smoke. Quite full bodied with a creamy/oily palate. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2004 Translucent dark brown body with a burgundy tone and creamy light tan head. Great aroma of black raspberries, currants, and dark chocolate. Same elements in the flavor plus some coffee notes and light roast. Medium to full bodied porter, a stout really. Delicious in small doses, but the fruit and roast clash after a while. One pint is more than enough. Interesting and very good, but not an elite beer.

(Chocolate Raspberry Porter from a home brew recipe). I just happened upon this place in Carlisle, PA. Pours a very dark, clear garnet. Small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. Thick, creamy, cumulus lacing. The aroma is of chocolate and subtle raspberries. The flavor delivers most of the same notes as the nose and is very well-balanced. Not at all sweet. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Chocolaty, mild raspberry finish. World class beer! What a find, this Market Cross Pub and Brewery!
