| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | May 15, 2009 Well I didn’t sense any Blackberry. No Head or lacing to speak of. Very slightly cloudy but no color of blackberries influencing here. Only the faitest if any sense of Berries, but a clear sense of Paprika. Sweeter than their Light lager but not much else. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Sample on tap at brewpub. Very little aroma to this one - maybe some berry aroma but not much else. Mild copper clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts dull with light fruity flavor. Mild berry. Bitter finish and light bitter after - not true berry flavor but a syrup, so there is a chemical concentrate bitterness in the after as well. Sammy (4065), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Oct 20, 2007 I am not a fan of the vast majority of fruit beers, which are only synthetically injected. They must sell to some crowd to be included in lineups, and this must be a case in point despite poor ratings by a knowledgeable crowd. This sour lager had the addition of blackberry juice and no aroma, suggesting an injection of something. It’s clear to me it’s artificial. Thin, and a falloff in appearance from the regular lager. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Hazed gold, white creamy head. Nose was all blackberry with hints of bubblegum and yeast. Fruity throughout, crisp, with a light bitterness in the end. Not to sweet which is a good thing. Light bodied, light carbonation, fruity finish. Not half bad... argo0 (7025), Washington DC, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Crystal clearstraw body with white head. Aroma is medium sweet, blackberry. Taste is medium sweet, blackberry, light cereal, seltzer. Light body with light stickiness. Much better than the base beer alone. RCL (1496), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jul 5, 2006 Had I been near a drain I would have poured it. In my opinion, very few breweries make good fruit beers, and this is not one of them. This one reminded me of cough syrup.
