Normally give the Pils to my wife, as I'm not usually a fan, but this one was different. Flavor like fresh bread; best American pils I've had next to the Blue Paddle. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 9, 2003 Pours a bland gold color with a thick white head and hardly any lacing. Aroma and flavor are not as offensive as most pils (at least to me). Some decent hops, but I still don’t like the style, and this didn’t change my mind. Dogbrick (2907), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours a dark gold color with a thick off-white head. Very little lacing. Aroma is lightly hoppy (Saaz I presume). The flavor is smooth and unthreatening. Some maltiness amid a lighty hopped and light-bodied Pils. While this beer did not set off any fireworks for me, I look forward to seeing what else this brewer has to offer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2003 Nice hearty pils. This beer fits all the criteria for a sturdy Bohemian Pilsner. Good malty body - almost like a Munich helles but with a nice dose of fresh hops. I actually had a co-worker complain that it was "dark" and "tasted bad" just before he ordered his usual beer, Amstel Light. I gladly finished his Market Street. What a shame it is that the mega brewers have so watered down their fare that people believe an authentic pilsner is "too much and too heavy" to drink! groovinhigh (170), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
