Commercial Description:
Hefe is the German word for yeast, and this version of our bavarian Wheat Bier is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Brewers yeast is rich in B vitamins, protein and iron and is considered a healthy tonic by many. The wheat bier yeast, is imported from Bavaria, imparts an authentic spicy flavor to this golen and refreshing effervescent beer.

Bottle... AWOL ’07... Ok, so this is an ale. Let’s just pretend it’s a lager (the style originates in a country famous for its lagers) so A Week Of Lagers continues... Cloudy straw-colored ale with a large, rocky, white head. Terrific retention. Soapy, breadsy nose. The flavor displays moderate oxidation. Light clove phenols mixed in with all the cardboard. Leans on the sweet side of balance. Thin and watery with modest carbonation. Crisp, clean, insipid finish. Lacks many of the esters and heavier phenols present in most examples of this style. Not horrible, just not any good at all.
