300ml vom fass during a stadtrundfahrt in the restaurant of the Berliner Fernsehturm where the beer was served at a fine drinking temperature. Deep, mahogany body. Film-type layer. Firm roasted, almost burnt, aroma of dark malts. Brittle malty flavour with a caramel touch and hints of tart berries far beneath. Medium bodied. Good, however a bit boring in the long run (Berlin, 20.11.2009).

Draught at Alt-Berliner Weissbierstube, Berlin, March 2009. Very handsome dark red/brown colour. Generous beige head. Lightly roast aroma with just a hint of chocolate. Relatively bitter on the palate with burnt malt and nutty notes - almost chestnuts. Good.

Draught at Zum Letzten Instanz, Berlin, Germany on 28th September 2009. Dark ruby with pale brown head. Sweet with a few roast barley notes which are the main "accent". A sweetish finish on a fizzy mouthfeel. Some fruity notes, mainly of berries.

Bottle. Near black in colour with a slight, off-white head. Thin, sweetish aroma of chocolate and red fruit. Roasty flavour with bready malts and a touch of milk chocolate. finish had anodd savoury edge to it. Ok.

It is black with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of earthy roasted malt, berries and licorice. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of slightly earthy/musty roasted malt, light licorice and the finish is dry. It is OK, but a bit weak.

(Draught on 2009-02-06) Dark brown and clear. Quite large tan coloured and long lasting head. Malty aroma. Full bodied palate with medium carbonation. Roastedness, burnt flavours, bitterness and hint of coffee in taste. Bitter and burnt aftertaste.
