Commercial Description:
Bottled, pasteurised;
Sussex bitter is a finely crafted ale brewed by Hepworths of Horsham from locally grown barley malt and Golding hops delivering a refreshing flavour and a traditional Sussex ’hoppy nose’. A classic quencher!

It looks horrid and flat. Very bland and slightly honeyed cereal nose, a little sickly. Very flat, very sweet, actually quite tasty. Straw and redcurrant flavours, very summery. Funky smell, pretty nice flavour but a bit flat and thick. Not a great beer, but a nice finish.

500ml bottle from M&S. Gold slight haze, very thin off white head. Some mixed citrus fruit aroma. OK in mouth, bit metallic on the carbonation, some decent fruit on end. It’s an averagely good bitter, one of the better ones in the range

Bottle. Golden orange with a small head. Aromas are biscuit malts with spiced oranges and grapefruit bitterness. Clean and fruity. Flavours are sweet but light malts with grapefruit bitterness. Quite dusty with grain and yeast. Jammy in its fruitiness with a long dry finish. Tasty for its strength.

Amber with a short-lived, slight off-white head. Crisp malt aroma, with a touch of fruit and some grassy hops. Slightly sweet malt flavour with a floral edge and decent bitter finish. Good.
