A very easy drinking lightly coloured pale ale, crafted to commemorate the burning of a used Burton Union barrel. It delivers a sharp thirst quenching bitterness, perfectly complemented with a slightly lemony citrus aroma. The perfect beer to accompany an English Summer. Definitely not for Australians!

Bottled, 500ml from Morrisons, Banbury. Gold with white head, carbonated. Light, sweet malty beer, easily drinkable, but all a little too lightweight, a bit like our batting line up. Below average.

Bottle from Lidl. Dark gold with a white head. Sweet malty aroma. Some plastic sourness in the taste. Mid bitter finish. Left me with a grim, griping feeling. The epic contest it celebrates deserves better.

light amber with a large frothy head lacing on glass. Smells sweet but not of anything much. Taste of bitter hops thought this was a bit disappointing expected it to be better!

Deep golden hue with a fast disapating head. Fresh crisp citrus and malty nose. Light crisp slightly watery taste with a touch of citrus. Standard stuff.

Bottle. Dull amber, gold with a thin head. Aromas are caramel, plastic and tea with light citrus. Flavours are light grain with plastic and soda water. Far too much carbonation with a burnt toast finish. Some cabbage notes, throughout. Totally hopeless.

A Mes rate: bottle thanks to Tom.
Pale golden brown with an oily film. Rough ginger biscuit aroma and it’s clearly HEAVILY pasturised. Cardboard and caramel malt flavour. Lifeless and whimpish finish. Crap.

Strong malt aroma with honey. Just like the aroma the flavour is strong in malt also. Bitter malt finish with a hints of orange zest.
