Jan 31, 2007 Cask, Gardener’s Arms, Oxford. Pale oange with a persistant layer of off-white, very dense and fine. Softly hoppy in a sweet spring field kind of way. A a touch of fresh yeast. Very soft malt sweetness, a bit of pear esters, lightest touch of bitterness in the finish. A bit of dried berry flavor edges in half-way through the pint. Subtle but good, in an unassuming, friendly way.

Some carbonation. Small white head. Floral aroma. Golden coloured hoppy and slightly fruity with some bitterness in a crisp and dry malt finish.

Jun 2, 2009 Cask at The Rock of Gibraltar, Enslow Bridge, Oxon 01-06-09 Pours mid amber with white head. Aroma is mostly fruit and malt. Taste is really quite decent for a Marston’s effort, nicely fruity with a good tangy bite and nice bitter finish. Not bad at all. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Jul 6, 2009 Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Amber with a thin white head; orange citrus aroma; orange fruit flavour; deep earthy bitter finish. Not bad.

Sep 6, 2009 (Cask at Penderel’s Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 6 Aug 2009) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit and dusty hops. Fruity, malty taste with notes of biscuity malt, apricots and dusty hops in the finish. Below medium body, sweetish. Refreshing and drinkable, but hardly exciting.

Jul 27, 2009 Cask handpull at The Pheasant, Ashford. Pulled through a tight sparkler, so hard to tell what this is like. It was fine, a solid enough bitter with a bit of dustiness to the hops and a little biscuit character to the malts. Drinkable with my lunch but did not excite me enough to have a second pint.
