All you can expect a pint of bitter to be. Creamy, little white head, not ice cold. mmm Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2005 (on bottle) Chestnut-golden brown, no head. Kind of a smoked aroma, mixed with the sent of fallen leaves in october. Woody, earthy, full. More wood in the taste, plus some caramel, escorted by a surpricingly high carbonation(where did that come from?). Ends english = waterish, but till sweet malted. great beer, have a soft spot for Marstons, I do. scotty (834), Scotland

Harsh aroma of tinned fruit, brown in colour with NO head and NO lacework. Harsh unbalanced palate and an unpleasant finish. I normally enjoy Marstons brews but this is not nice...I think 660ml bottles are perhaps to be avoided( he remembers Wychwoods Goliath!)
