MrAleman (113), guildford, Surrey, England Oct 23, 2008 Came in a 660ml bottle, being artifically carbonated makes me worry about this one. marstons beers tend to be cheaper but not that good. HogcliffeLenny (160), Christchurch, Dorset, England Sep 21, 2008 Bottle 500ml from Waitrose. Part of a Marstons Head Brewers mixed pack. Pours clear amber with a thin off-white head. Reasonable hoppy aroma and a malty, hoppy flavour. Actually quite drinkable and better than Marston’s Pedigree. Doppelganger (1261), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Sep 2, 2008 Bottle. A very clear one. So that when I pour (amber, with a little white head) the overwhelming wave of skunk is no particular surprise. Not a hint of skunk, a wall of skunk, unpleasantly noticeable from an arm’s length. And like all brewers who put their beer in clear bottles, from my perspective, any skunk is their fault. Flavor is a bit of chewy caramel, decent body for the strength, but the skunk has invaded the flavor too, and this one is destined for the drain. Without the skuck, who knows. With it, remarkably bad. goozen (840), Leiden, Netherlands Dec 29, 2007 Bottle pint:Amber bitter an lower alcohol version of the Pedigree-bitter, and must see very drinkable. beervis (215), People’s Republic of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, England Nov 26, 2007 Aroma vaguely salty, faintly floral hops, wishywashy. Pours clear amber with fat cream head reducing to sud ring, Flavour light malt, soapy, a hint of snatch. Slightly redeemed by lingering gently bitter finish. Unremarkable and watery.
