Commercial Description:
Available filtered and pasteurised in 500ml clear glass bottles @ 5.0%. Occasionally available in cask. Has been brewd at 4.6%
The aptly named, "Double Drop", is brewed using just one type of English Barley - Maris Otter - which was harvested from Fuggle Farm in Norfolk. Uniquely, double dropping brings out the full flavour of this one melt, often described as "the king of brewing barley". The double dropping technique allows only the most vigorous yeast to survive and results in a cleaner fermentation process and a fresher, brighter beer. Double dropping involves "dropping" the beer during fermentation from one vessel to another, normally after 24 hours.

Part of a multi-pack of clear Marstons bottles. Pale gold, some nice white head. Aroma is....skunk. Not as revoltingly skunky as the last bottle in the pack I cracked open, but still pretty bad. Some sulfur makes it into the nose under all the skunk, which in this particular case is a slight improvement. Fairly bright crisp hopping, kind of refreshing and a decent firmness to the malt. Feels like there is a pretty beer under there. But it’s hiding.

Sweet fruity aroma with hoppy and rubber notes. Sweet fruity flavor with floral hops leading it to a dry bitter finish.

Hazy deep golden with tiney head. Notes of hops, yeast, cardboard and little citrus. Flavour is sweet with a hin of bitterness.

Bottle at fathers. Aroma is skunky, grassy, pale malts, grainy, the sulphur character takes an intresting take once its pasturised, chemically almost. Taste is similar, not a hot drink by any means.

Bottle. Toffee malt and fresh hay aroma. Amber color with moderate head. Light toffee malt flavor quickly overwhelmed by astringent green grass hops. Harsh for an ESB - like weaselkenievil’s evil hag - maybe she touched my bottle.

.5 bottle from the evil hag, I hate that fucking bitch. Head went very quickly, bit grassy in the smell, slightly bitter finish. Not my cup of tea, but certainly drinkable enough.
