Quite a flat constant flavour. Nothing really happens starts out flat and bitter and stays that way. bluevegie (2215), Perth, Australia
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 4, 2004 Dry and bitter, which is what I like but there is not much else in there to make it outstanding or make me race out and get more. Colour looks a bit dull , head and retention was ok and the aroma wasn’t bad either. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2004 A typical Marston’s product: dry, hoppy, slightly herbal, kind of medicinal, a bit metallic, but, nevertheless, very good refreshing ale. haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 16, 2004 Almost forgotten ’double dropping’ technique? Try harder to forget, then. It brings no noticeable improvement to another mediocre bottled Marston beer.
It’s A squared B cubed - another amazingly boring bottled beer.
For the record - amberish, sweetish, maltish, blandish. leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Aromas are sweet and yeasty and light struck skunky (as are nearly all the Marston’s bottled beers). Flavours are buttery mild malt with caramel and some spice. Mediocre. rauchbier (3002), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 7, 2004 Bottled. Amber gold, thin but lasting white head and moderate tingle of condition. Malt and low spicy hoppiness in the nose, malty in the mouth but uninspiring and bland. Dry and slightly bitter finish with a touch of pepperiness towards the end.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Pours cloudy brownish copper with medium white head. Good retention too. Nice fresh grassy hop aroma with a hint of lemon there too. Smooth mouthfeel, though a little thin. Clean sweet start with a bitter mid and dry bitter finish. I enjoyed this, and didnt find it skunky at all. Maybe others got bad bottles (they are clear).
