Strong aroma of hops, hint of citrus fruit with woody notes. Nice clear light golden orange colour with a thin head. Toffee, vanilla with a wood flavour. Nice bitterness. Smooth finish, nice beer.

500ml bottle from Threshers. Things start off promisingly with the beer pouring a light amber with brisk carbonation, giving off a strong vanilla aroma. The problem is, that’s all there is to it. The vanilla notes utterly dominate the flavour making this beer a one-dimensional experience. The palate is pretty creamy, adding to the ’cream soda’ feeling that hughie mentions below. The ’heritage’ label irked me too as well.

Attractive amber colour, almost no head, and a strong vanilla aroma; extremely bitter and a shock in the mouth. Like shoestring I nearly poured it away, but persevered and found it got better.

Veyr attracytive in colour, and the aroma is frutal, then it comes the taste like chocolate, the best Marston’s now.

Bottle version. Not a bad beer at all, but also not a great beer. Got the hint of vanilla and cherry, and found it quite refreshing.

Poured from the bottle, a very clear amber with a little carbonation evident - only a few bubbles on top for a head. Very strong vanilla and fruit aroma. Taste fails a little, a find the vanilla just a little too sweet and the mouth feel is a bit fizzy. There is a smokiness as well, but there is a bitterness in the finish. I could see a few lager drinkers liking it though.
