Cask at Derby Festival ’08. Thanks to DeepBlack for this one. Bright amber. Farmyardy hop aroma. Sweet malty taste, quite thin, later developing a biscuity quality. Some bitterness. Good sessioner.

Cask at the Woodmans. Served too cold and through a sparkler that would have thought you were having it from nitro keg. Aroma is typically marstons sweet sulphury character. Tste is nutty malts mixed with the sulphury hops. Not my deal and i dont understand how marstons manage to survive as a brewery.

Cask, The Lamplighters, St Hellier, Jersey. Amber gold with a small head. Aromas are caramel malts with dry tea. Light prickly grapefruit with smoky, woody notes. Hints of salt and sulphur. Flavours are bitter pine hops with grapefruit. Dry tea with biscuit malts. Hoppy but a bit thin.
