Dry spicy bitterness up front, followed by some straw and a light and sweet fruitiness - orange and peach?. Some wood comes through in the tail, with a dry finish. Recognisable Marstons flavour, but - surprisingly - this is a decent beer, and I enjoyed it more than I normally would for something this dry and bitter. JK54B (951), Helsinki, Finland

Think this got pulled through a sparkler. Farmy hop nose and a nice sort of wet dog smell. Light mineral sweetness, nettle hops and a very light alchohol touch. Rather easy-drinking for a strongish sort of beer. Pretty decent overall. I sup without making a face. (Given the last two or three Marston beers I’ve tried, that is massive improvement.) yespr (12420), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Mild fruity and slight malty base flavour. Light bitter and refreshing fruity accent. Biter and rather dry finish yet with a mild fruity hops note. MrAleman (111), Wiltshire, England
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Sep 15, 2008 A tempting aroma of biscuity malt, floral hops, vanilla and toffee, with hints of citrus fruit. A very refreshing, drinkable and well balanced India Pale Ale. Indeed! 6/20 DruncanVeasey (2768), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England

Fart and peppery hops in equal measure. Chalky, sulphurous, lightly fruity. Hops swamped by pale biscuity ordinariness. Lukewarm. Need to give it another chance.
