Smoked aroma. Dark coloured smooth on the palate and strong in alcohol. Fruity and hoppy with a lasting burnt roast finish. MesandSim (5955), London, Greater London, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 18, 2009 A Mes rate. Cask at GBBF. Almost black with a decent beige head. Nice smoky porter with some good wooden notes and a lot more hoppage than I was expecting. The malt and hops combine well to give it a strong fruity character. Lasting bitter finish. Not really worthy of being classed as a smoked beer but nice enough all the same. harrisoni (6946), Ashford, Kent, England

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Poured from gravity cask into one-third pint glass. Wholesome pitch black body under a naked surface. Smoked, sweet malty to the nose added by grassy hops. Dark fruits in flavour quite well balanced with smoked malts leading to a hoppy bitter ending. Not enough bodied, a bit diluted, but still a joy to the palate (GBBF, 05.08.2009). cgarvieuk (4214), Edinburgh, Scotland
