Spicy, oxidized candy aroma with a touch of sulfur and some caramel. Faint notes of citrus and banana. Hazy dark gold with a bubbly white lacy cover. Slightly sulfury, fresh flavour that is nice and dry with some lotus root malt and a crisp bitterness. The sulfur and maybe a little diacetyl sort of makes this beer a little popcorny, but in a good way. Light to medium body, crisp and clean finish. cgreb (89), Marburg, Germany Nov 28, 2008 bottle - hazy orange beer with thick white head. Light corn aroma. Flavour is sweet and corny. Not to bitter. A foamy head ( large even for a plis) Hoppy & yeasty with a fair taste.
A good session beer
YogiBeera (2413), Hamburg, Germany Jan 5, 2006 Thanks Christian for dragging this with all the french cheese and paté all the way up to Hamburg - must have been a hell of a smell in the train compartment and great picture! Huge big crown head. Golden color, fizzy carbonation. Very fesh nose, like fresh mashed grain. Pleasant greain taste with medium citrusy that lasts long. Great session beer! pivo (2488), Germany Jan 1, 2006 A pils with lots of personality. First of all, the head is just the fluffiest, foamiest white head I’ve ever seen. Almost comical, but inviting nonetheless. Pale gold color and a lively carbonation. Citrus flavors in a thin, quick malt that gives way to a broad, stinging hop bitter. Kinda like a lemon peel - dry and bitter. This is fairly aggressively hopped for a German pils. The balance if off, and there is a even a little sulfury-ness in the taste, but it’s fun and full of character. Thanks Christian!
