opaque amber, fine beige head, lots of drippy lace,
sweet dark caramel aroma with lots of floral hops,
rich caramel malt flavor, nice sweetness balanced by a handfull of hop flavor, the sweetness gets a bit sticky after a while but the hop profile keeps up with it, nice lingering bitter finish,
a well made IPA

Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, light pineapple/pine. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, light pine. Medium body, some resin, light acidity. Seems a similar recipe to their APA, just a little bit bigger. hopdog (5606), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Lightly hazy, deep amber ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma is malty and hoppy... butterscotch, pine and toffee. Rich, malty flavor up front, chased by moderate hop bitterness... nice, lasting bite. Full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Lengthy, very bitter finish. Leaves the mouth very dry. Great brew! ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 21, 2006 Draught at the brewery. Dark and murky copper dull brown colored body with a tan firm head. Toasty, bready, juicy hops in the nose, along with a tangy dark orange and sugary gun scent, rounded out with some spiced toast. Sweet smelling overall. Properly tart and puckery on the tongue, medium thickness and moderately frothy. Has a resiny sweetness in the finish, and is a very good drink, with some oily dryness, but also a bit chalky as well. Has some gummy sweet pine sap hops everywhere. Very tasty. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Tastes very hoppy, piney, with some spice, fruit, and a mouth full of real hops at the finish. Well hidden alcohol, super hoppy, and a nice complexity. Just an incredible brew! Awesome hop aroma whcih comes from chinook in the dry hop. I talked to the brewer- and he said that they had just dry hopped this 3 days before the festival. Deep amber color, lots of malt and hops with a nice bitter hop bite to it. Awesome TomDecapolis (3195), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of pine, grapefruit and very earthy. Flavors of the same with a nice bitterness coming through and again very earthy. Did not realize when I had this that it was a IIPA.
