dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 30, 2007 2007-Draft and Growler. Rating from Growler. Pours golden yellow with TONS of carbonation even after it exploded in my car on the way home. . . oops. Nice white, foamy head, quickly disapating. Hint of banana on the nose, otherwise soapy and wheat malt. Classic German Hefe taste, hint of banana and clove, but predominated by malt, a bit of skunk and then crisp hop finish, not too overpowering. A good Hefe and a decent seasonal. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 26, 2007 On tap 10/25/07 as part of a sampler. Slightly hazy yellow, quick dying white foam, no lacing. Very slightly banana in the nose. Flavor is a bit thin, only a hint of classic hefe character and a little bit of sulfur. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 24, 2007 On tap at Marzonis in Allison Park. A very average Hefe. Aroma was not very strong. Could pick up some yeastiness but nothing else. Pour was nice..a hazy light orange with a decent 2 finger white head. Please waitresses...I know it’s a personal preference...don’t put the orange slices in the beeer unless asked. Taste was kind of spicy and watery. If the taste carried through to the end this would be an awesome beer. It just gave up too soon. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 15, 2006 Very citrusy aroma. Lemon oil and balsamic notes. Aroma is reminiscent of Flemish sour ale, tart and woody. No banana or clove. Cloudy pale amber-gold, with thin wispy lacing white head. Medium watery body with light-medium carbonation. Starts with nice citrus and estery yeasty flavors, mild Beemans gum. Nice sweetness, followed by lemony chalky bitter finish. For a German hefeweizen, it’s a little too lemony and bitter. For a witbier, it’s perfect.
