pjweaver (133), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 4, 2009 Tap, sampler glass. Cloudy golden unfiltered wheat appearance. Aroma of stronge orange/mandarin. Sour citrus flavor follows the aroma, tangy tangy beer. Sour remains as a residual aftertaste. Sticky thick in the mouth, not very refreshing at all....made me thirsty. roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2008 Pours a very hazy bright yellow color with some fizzy white head. Very tart lemon flavor. Light and watery. Slight banana flavor and smell. Overall, mediocre. kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 On tap @ Duncansville. Pours a hazy yellow with a small soapy white head. Citrusy fruity nose with some hay and bready malt. Thin flavor, just a little doughy malt with a citrusy spritzy finish. Pretty thin in body with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, just a little weak on all fronts. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Feb 18, 2008 (Duncansville) Fluffy off-white head with cloudy lemon yellow body. Aroma is medium sweet, clove. Taste is medium sweet, clove, light lemon, somewhat dry finish. Light-medium body. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Feb 4, 2008 Sampler at the Allison Park location, 02.03.08 (Super Bowl Sunday). This was labeled Wildwood Wheat. Hazy, cloudy corn gold, white head. Aroma is yeasty. Flavor is spicy, tangy, wheaty, slightly meaty and bleu cheesy. Pretty darn good in my book. mj (4971), Colorado, USA Dec 8, 2007 5 oz sample at the brewery. Has an extremely hazy, milky white appearance, 100% opaque and almost muddy looking, like disolved white bread. First taste is sour peach skin and rubber (seriously, it tastes like how condoms smell, for lack of a better descriptor). Filmy and milky on the palate, it finishes with more of that rubber twang and some lactic sourness. It’s not a stretch for me to say that this needs work, but I imagine the regulars like it a lot. That’s how it goes. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2007 On tap 10/25/07 as part of a sampler. Hazy yellow with short lived white foam, no lacing. Dry slightly tart aroma, subtle notes of C-hops. Flavor is crisp and dry, nice hoppiness. A bit thin in body. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 24, 2007 On tap at Marzonis in Allison Park. Please stop with the orange slices in wheat beers. In this case, nothing would help this beer. Aroma was nothing. I put my big schnozz in the glass and could not pick up much other than the orange that was there. Pour was a nice hazy orange with a one finger white head. Taste was VERY watery and flavorless. Some tartness came through in the end as it warmed up. Blah.
