| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 20, 2007 Bottle... This beer Rocks!... Pitch black pour with a small, creamy, light brown head. The aroma is a swirl of chocolate, coconut and vanilla with an undercurrent of tobacco, bourbon and cola. Burnt, bitter, boozy flavor. Light, chocolaty sweetness bows to moderate acidity. Full-bodied and chewy with medium carbonation. Burnt, bitter, bourbon finish that dries out in the end. This brewer should no longer be under the radar. World class beer! Thanks go out to 1FastSTi for providing the bottle! mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA

Smells of some sweet bourbon, which I was shocked to learn it wasnt BB aged. Big chocolate, and some vanilla too, really stood out in the nose. I’m liking this beer already. Very rich and thick mouthfeel, big, big chocolate with some nice alcohol notes that seem to compliment the chocolate well. Get some bourbon in the taste too, but not as much as the smell. Very smooth and lovely beer. I’d like to try more from this brewery. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Bomber via Bill. 2005 vintage. The beer pours a dark brown body that looks mostly black. A thin rejuvenatable brown head sits on top. Good lacing. The aroma has a lot of roasty malt, notes of licorice, chocolate, and woodsy spices. Kinda made me think that if Anchor OSA was an imperial stout, this would be it. The flavor is bitter cocoa powder, licorice, woodsy charcoal, rich dark chocolate. "Spicy" palate that is rich, lightly tart, and roasty. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 21, 2007 Courtesy hopscotch. Black with a very thin tan head. Sweet aromas of chocolate, malt, and some alcohol. Thick, creamy palate. Flavor is a great balance of rich roast flavor and a defined alcohol presence. Rich bitter roast finish. Damn good. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 28, 2007 Black body. Thin dark tan head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is very sweet with notes of melon, ornage peel and bourbon leading. Further contemplation reveals rich coffee, milk chocolate, monstrous notes of treacle and uncooked brownies complete with chocolate icing. Somehow I don’t think this needs to go in the oven though. Flavor is almost as rich and satisfying as the nose. Roastiness is moderate. Honey notes and lesser bourbon and woddiness in the taste trhan in the flavor. Still very sweet, with mild bitterness and low acidity. Finishes very bitter, roasty and chocolatey. Alcohol is prominent throughout. Mouthfeel is full, rich, warming and very smooth. Ebony black color with a slightly sweet aroma, reminds me of the coffee served at a Vietnamese restaurant. Awesome beer.
