On tap 10/25/07 as part of a sampler. Amber colored, off white foam, low retention and lacing. Some c-hops and some tart yeastiness in the aroma. Flavor is strikingly bitter, not much else going on, just a good bit of harsh bitterness and some hints of crystal malts buried there somewhere.

On tap at Marzonis in Allison Park as North Park This is one awesome APA. Pour was a dark amber with a nice 1 finger head. Aroma was so-so. Could pick up some dark malt. Taste was oh so hoppy. More so than their IPA. Very bitter with a little caramel malt coming in and out but not enough to stand up to these great hops. Very nice.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours brass color with sticky off-white head. The aroma is some citrus and pine, with lots of bark and earth. Flavor is sweet and fruity, maybe some nectarine, and a toasty malt backbone. Bitterness is mild, but dries out more in the finish with some earthy hops.

hazy amber, fine beige head, lots of drippy lace, light sweet caramel and grapefruit aroma, caramel malt flavor balanced with lots of hops leading to a long agressive bitter finish, only a hint of sweetness manages to sneak through the bitterness,

Draft in Altonna. LIght amber with creamy head. Nice malt balance with great floral hop finish that lingers a bit. Good stuff

Draught @ Brewpub. This one pours a cloudy amber color, without much of a head. There was no lacing to speak of. It has a milder aroma. Mainly notes of some malt and some hops. It was somewhat grapefruity, but not very strong. The taste is decent enough. It has a medium malt boy, with a somewhat bitter taste. It has a good balance and is fairly smooth. A touch dry in the finish. A good drinker.

If you like IPA, ignore my numbers. On tap at the Marzoni’s in Allison Park. Here it is called North Park Pale Ale for the locals. Brownish amber color but quite reddish. Looks somewhat like the Marzoni’s Amber Lager. No head. Has a hoppy floral aroma that makes me think right off the bat it should be an IPA. Big hop impact on the taste buds, got to be an IPA. Hops, hops and more hops. Coats the mouth with that bitter sensation. The flavor of ground up grapefruit rinds prevails. There is an earthly hint hidden deep down within this brew. Some slight creamy carbonation. Finish is medium high lingering medicinal bitter qualities. A little too much for an APA IMHO.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a caramel amber color with a khaki head. The aroma is strong piney and fruity hops. The flavor was bitter, piney and had a strong grapefruit element. There is a nice underlying malty sweetness. There is a long bitter grapefruit. Rather one dimensional but enjoyable.
