Brought back as a Brewer’s Choice. Growler from brewery in Duncansville. Pours a clear copper-brown with ruby highlights and a thin off-white head that leaves minimal lacing on the glass. Nice malty aroma, caramel and dark fruits. Flavor is moderately sweet, some caramel, slight toastiness, and a hint of bourbon. Nicely balanced. Medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet yet warming. Really nice.

Slightly hazed brownish copper. Dusty tan head. Slightly fruited nutty caramel with hints of smoke. Well put together aroma. Flavor is pretty good. Light, but that’s not a bad thing. Light fruity hops amidst a sweet smoked caramel malt. Nice and balanced, well put together.

brownish redish color w/ a nice tan head and some thick lacing. Sweet aroma good amounts of brown sugar and carmel a light tangy almost smoky hint w/ touches of alcohol. Nice mouth feel, good coating lightly creamy. A quite warm swallow bringing the alcohol out w/ lots of sweet brown sugars, carmels, toffee’s and some roasted grains still that hint of almost a smoke like tange. Quite nice, I’d drink it again.

Bottle via Bill. The beer pours to a dark brown body with a creamy light tan head. The aroma is malty with interesting sweet sugars. Light sweet chocolate and a dash of peat. The flavor is really malty and has nougat and chocolate in it. Really superbly balanced. Toasty malts. The palate is silken and moderately full bodied. Nice light tartness and caramel texture.

Draught @ the Brewery: this one pours am opaque brown, with a strong tan head. There is a bit of lacing down the glass. The aroma is somewhat peaty and smokey, with a nice malt sweetness behind it. The taste is initially malty sweet, with some of the peatiness and smokiness coming through. Very Good!

Bottle shared by Blake, kindly sent to him by the brewer. Clear brown body under a small tight tan head. Raspberry tartness and toasty caramel malts in the aroma. Big malty flavor that hits you up front with round, sweet caramelly malts with cherry fruitiness in the finish. Somewhat dry finish. A fine scotch ale, lots tasty malt going on.

Half-pint @ the brewery. Moderately cloudy plum purple/brown colored body. Rich maple, dried fruit (plum, pineapple, raisins), some brown sugar and dough yeast notes, and a little bit of sweet bourbon or whiskey character as well. Texture is frothy and chewy, viscous but not thick, and it tastes on the sweeter side, but not too far... maple pancake syrup (and bacon? mmm bacon), candied scotch, wood, nuts, dried fruit, etc. A pretty good beer, the chewy and frothy texture is the biggest draw here.

(Duncansville, 6.3%, called Scotch Ale) Clear blood red body with beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, molasses, light cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, chocolate, brown sugar, some cherry, light smoke/burnt. Light carbonation, medium body.
