Wulfstan (481), California, USA May 22, 2008 This is a pretty good lager. It’s gold with a fairly big white head that steadily shrinks to a ring and leaves a tiny bit of weak lacing. The aroma is bread, raw grain, hay, pine -a slightly perfumy, nice, basic European lager. The taste is a little drier than expected, first being light herbal and grassy hops then bready with a lioght honey sweetness and finishing with a light herbal bite. It hs a light mineral-water quality, a hint of fizzy apple cider and 7-up, but while not soft and full in feel it’s not watery, either. It’s a good, tasty, and drinkable basic beer.
Skinnyviking (3024), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 5, 2009 Bottle. Low but lasting fluffy white head. Clear golden body with a lot of bubbles. Weak barley malt aroma with notes of soap. Somewhat dry flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness high carbonation and a long hoppy aftertaste. OK but rather anonymous. martinboer (118), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 3, 2009 Aug 13, 2006 Updated: Aug 20, 2006
Bottle in Vodice, Croatia. This is a lager I enjoyed, with a bit more bite to it.Large head like many of the beers served here. Good. jmorse2000 (2), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA does not count Jan 3, 2009 Tastes like central european beers of this style. dry, crisp. not much flavor complexity. could of been a molson golden and I wouldn’t have known. grain-ish with some slight mineral flavors on finish. espenra (202), Oslo, Norway Dec 27, 2008 33cl bottle. It poured a pale yellow colour with a big white foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. Aroma is malty with notes of grass as well. The flavour is thin and watery with notes of malts, corn, and grass. It has a short aftertaste. tgncc (377), Bellmore, New York, USA Dec 25, 2008 Gift from Mother-in-law. Scratch Croatia off the list. The aroma is sweeter than I expected, a malty sweetnes, with grassy notes, slight alcohol. The appearance is true tio the style of the pale lager, straw yellow, with a white head. The flavor is also classsic, malt, corn, adjuncts. The finish is slightly bitter, from the modest amount of hops. Not bad at all.
