Flavour is long-lasting and sweet, with light bitterness. Sticky in the palate, and medium-full body. Almost black, with a frothy off-white head. Muggus69 (566), Sydney, Australia

Man was I stoked to see a Baltic porter on tap!
Near-opaque deep dark brown body, with brown head almost as menacingly dark.
Aroma is chocful of errrm, dark chocolate. Cocoa and liquorice, bit undertones of dark cherry and liquorice.
Thick body, reasonably subdued carbonation, big mouthfeel.
Much more of the rich dark chocolate and dark fruits on the body, some mild roast coffee and roasted nuts in there. Quite salty and lactic on the finish, ending quite dry, a hint of alcohol warmth lets you know who’s boss.
Would love to see more nice big dark smooth beers like this down under. This is very tasty! nate2g (1137), Brisbane, Australia

Appears very dark brown in the glass with ruby highlights and creamy laced beige head. Strong roasted malt aroma and flavour with underlying licorice, cocoa and fruity hops. Sweet malty finish. Nicely balanced, a tasty porter. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2009 [On-tap at Mash, Rating #800] Pours dark brown with a nice brown head. Aroma has a lot of chocolate, good amount of sweetness--banana and raisin. Alcohol is pretty well hidden in the taste. Chocolate again, caramel, light blackberry and notes of black cherry. Roasted malt in the finish. Great palate. Good, thick mouthfeel, creamy and smooth. This was a really enjoyable beer that I look forward to trying again. Falls just short of great, but was very well crafted nonetheless and went down well on a cool early spring night. bluevegie (2217), Perth, Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 10, 2009 I think the advertised flavours are all there, not standing out till it warmed up. Almost black body, tan head and it maintained its head and left good lacing down the glass. So as it warmed liquorice was the more noticeable from the chocolate which seems dark and more in the aroma. Smooth, easy to drink with an almost chalky finish. The only problem was the weekend bar staff wasting more than they poured.
