Low aroma of coffee and burnt malt. Nice dark malts in the palate, coffee, chocolate, burnt toast, but a little on the thin side. sinkas (182), Perth/Fremantle, Australia

Pretty uninteresting black lager, crisp and clean though. Really thought there would be some darker grain flavours ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2006 Missed you again, bluevegie, must have nearly fallen over each other without realising it. Anyway, second on the list. Poured a translucent, deep, cola brown with a short-lived, soapy, off-white head that left some firm lacing. Very subtle aroma of burnt wood, coffee beans and dark chocolate that took a little to get roused, yet stayed with it for the length playing a big part in the flavour. Flavour leans towards strong espresso coffee flavours with just a touch of mocha and a subtle, sweet richness of darker grains that follow into the thin and smooth, smoky and bitter malt swallow. Body is similarly thin, the carbonation a little too effervescent, but it works well enough for a newly brewed beer. Suppose getting out the kinks comes with time. Still, offers the patrons a new contrast in their selection. (On draught at the brewery/restaurant) bluevegie (2222), Perth, Australia

Needs more focus on the beers than the restaurant.
