solid brown, lasting fine tan head, rich chocolate and roasted flavor, a nice coffee character, good balancing hop flavor and a lasting bitter finish, a bit too much bitterness from the roasted creates a touch of astrengency in the finish

Tight roasty aroma. Well rounded roasty flavors, too ... bit of smoke and a bit of sweet-bitter clash of the titans going on. Very good and best I had today. The nose is slightly hoppy and ashy with traces of coffee. I found the mouthfeel to be much less malty and heavy than their stout with plenty of bright, sparkling notes for a porter. Interesting mesh of U.S. hops and U.K.-type malt flavor. A bit of nutty, coffee flavor is found. This is interesting, but a tad thinner than I’d like a porter to be. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

Pours a hefty brown color with a nice tan head. Laced very well. Aromas just work to break the plane of the glass’s rim, they’re so heavy. Roasted coffee and bitter chocolate abound. The malts seem to be roasted just this morning it’s so fresh. The taste is thick with its roasted character. Chocolate melted in coffee. A pleasant hoppy zing to this as well at the end. Brewed with Cascades. Citrusy kick in a roasted porter? Sure! The end result was wonderful. Mouthfeel was healthy, very smooth and easy to drink. Very well done.
