Commercial Description:
Only true hop-heads apply! Our I.P.A. is copper colored and big in hop bitterness, flavor and aroma, using an enormous amount of Northern Brewer and Cascade hops to create a very refreshing ale.

opaque orange, sweet grapefruit aroma, lots of citrus grapefruit flavor with a sweetness that’s like sugar on your morning grapefruit, nice long low bitter finish, does not hold up to the bottom of the glass

ditto, holds up better but looses the citrus and becomes a great sweet and bitter ipa

lots of bitterness and not so much sweetness

sweet soapy carmel malt aroma, muted hop flavor, good carmel sweetness, must be an aged sample

turns into a nice bitter pale ale, looses the citrus and even most of the sweetness,

clear copper, fine white head, solid lace, sweet citrus aroma, creamy body, rich hop flavor followed by tons of bitterness, enough caramel sweetness to provide a bit of a backbone but it’s all about the hops, best sample yet but still needs more hop flavor than the bitterness

Draft at Mash House. Pours dark orange with copper hues, hazy. A medium-sized off-white head recedes slowly and leaves behind thin speckled lacing. The aroma is earthy, grassy, hoppy, with light toasted grains, caramel in moderation, flowers, peaches and toffee. Alcohol is very well masked. The flavor is very nice, developing a complex taste right away. Bitterness is medium-high, somewhat resiny and is an interesting blend of earthy grassiness, florals and citric notes. Acidity is medium, sweetness mild. Finishes off-dry, fruity and resinous. The mouthfeel is lightly sticky, well carbonated and light-medium bodied. A tasty and unique IPA.

Trade from Ross. Pours a deep hazy amber color with lots of particulate floating about. Aroma is of light citrus hops and light caramel malt and ight diacetyl. Taste is light citrus hops, some tea flavors mingle in the mix with light caramel and again, diacetyl. Not sure if it was abad bottle or not but this IPA was amess. Too dry and mouth puckering bitterness ruin it.

Draft pint(s) at the brewpub; Copper and still and absolutely headless; the nose is just a tease of northwestern hops, but the flavor is intensely hoppy (cascade?), metallic and puckering. Not enough of a backbone to it, a bit light bodied and not enough malt foundation. (#2806, 4/21/2007)

12oz bottle acquired in a trade with BigErn (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of earth, floral / fresh green hoppiness, and faint caramel peaking its way through in the background. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and some floralness. Body a tad on the thin side.
