appearance is dark red-orange with white head. aroma consists largely of grapefruit and citrus aroma, with some altoids and some spruce, not pine that turns bitter but spruce with that sweetness to it. Hintf os a minty flavor with the citrus and hops and pine sol.

Bottle, Hennepin glass. Medium copper hue with a medium frothy white head. Lots of orange and pine needles in the aroma along with light carmel, bread and cookies. More balanced in the flavor profile with the tasty addition of biscuits up front. The finish is crisp and fruit. Medium bodied with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Middle of the pack for an IPA but pleasant.

A dark orange appearance. An apricot and orange aroma with some strong perfume. A very bitter piney flavor upfront and tangerines in the finish. The body is a little thin. This one is for hop heads.

Bottle (compliments of Fish). Strong pineapple hops aroma. Reddish amber color with ample head. Slightly sweet pineapple flavor initially followed by moderate hops flavor that isn’t overpowering. Nicely balanced IPA - I prefer them like this but might not be hoppy enough for some.

I’ve got a serious cold/nasal blockage, so It’s going to be a bit difficult for me to guage flavors, and aromas very well. But I wanted to make note of what promises to be a stellar beer when I finally get around to tasting it un-sick. I should mention that, my excuse for drinking beer whilst sick is that I thought the hefty amount of hops packed into this brew might go a long way towards curing me of this awful virus. We’ll see how that goes. But for now, even in my severely clogged-up state, I can tell this beer packs a mighty hop bitter. It’s a gorgeous deep amber color with a quickly dissipating tan head (nice lacing though) The body heavy medium. And the palate is a little on the fizzy side (though, I think I might be overly sensitive to that because of my illness). Overall, one of the best NC beers I’ve had to date, certainly the best NC IPA that you can find in a bottle. I can’t wait to visit the mash house restaurant next time I’m in fayetteville for more exciting brews.

Poured a slightly hazed golden amber color with a medium off-white head. Floral and perfumey hop aroma. Almost smelled a little minty. Malty underneath. Malty flavor that stops rather quickly and leads to a long bitter finish. The beer is a little on the low side for hop flavor.

Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma is very piney with strong notes of grapefruit. Piney, citrusy flavor with a great creamy mouthfeel. Finish is a little malty. Very enjoyable.

Draught at the brewpub. I guess this one won a silver medal at the GABF in 2001. Clear dark golden color with bubbly white head. Big hop nose with perfume and rose hips. Touch of sweetness up front. Subtle malt character is overpowered by the perfumy hops. Prominent hop bitterness lasts throughout and lingers.
