TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Nov 1, 2006 Picked this one up on a recent trip to TN. Nice hoppiness with a well balanced malty backbone. Cool label adds to the enjoyment. Scruntus (6), North Carolina, USA does not count Jul 23, 2003 Updated: Feb 26, 2005Anothe reviewed indicated that his Hoppy Hour IPA tasted foul. I too have had this experiece on several occassions (both on tap and bottled). There are apparently some inconsistencies in the kegging/bottling process. When this beer is good, it’s very good. When it’s bad, it’s very bad. I just bought a six-pack today (for some reason I keep going back hoping for a good batch) and it is very good. I’m back on the Hoppy Hour IPA bandwagon. jasonwamsley (3), Norton, Virginia, USA does not count Nov 14, 2005 I have really enjoyed this first glass. I’m a big fan of IPAs and I feel this is one to remember. The aroma is strong which I feel is good in an IPA. The mouthfeel is great and taste is wonderful. The beer is full of a wonderful hop bouquet. The beer had a nice head to it and the bitterness is great! Just like the label says this is a "Damn Good Beer." DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 25, 2005 My bottle says "Hoppy Hour IPA". Hazy gold pour with big, white head. Aroma is huge hops, black pepper, florals, even some Brett. Tastes hoppy, with firm and solid malt backbone, fruit, and spicy floral elements. This one is just astounding. ross (1585), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Oct 31, 2004 a damn nice ipa. bottle. pours out dark yellow with a tan head. smells hoppy just like hop oil. dry and yet creamy at the same time. smooth drinking IPA, and certainly a top beer for NC. quite good
