Collint (381), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Jan 3, 2008 Wow, what a great beer. I went to Twisted Fork resturaunt and tried a pint glass. I was so impressed by this beer I bought a half gallon for 9 dollars. Poured a great head and smells of cascade and grapefruit. Awesome pallet and great bitter finish. If your a hop lover this is for you. Very close to DFH 60 minute. Great beer
gotohelunc (400), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 25, 2008 Draft at Hi5 Raleigh. Copper color with a foamy white head. Crisp, sharp grapefruit hop flavors and aroma. Finishes pretty cleanly, a touch sour. I enjoyed this IPA quite a bit and wish it was more widely available in the Triangle area. ucusty (1309), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 21, 2008 On tap at twisterd fork. Clear copper pour. Citrus aroma. Sweet malts up front not bitter finish. Crisp, clean and refreshing... I miss when this was available in bottles JCB (1191), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2008 On tap at Hi5, Raleigh. Before Foothills came along, Hoppy Hour was perhaps the finest example of an IPA being made in North Carolina (all due respect to Carolina Brewing and Cottonwood, no slouches). Nice big copper pour, pungent aroma of hops, creamy mouthfeel with a deliciously long, bitter finish. Just the ticket. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 04/12/2003
opaque orange, sweet grapefruit aroma, lots of citrus grapefruit flavor with a sweetness that’s like sugar on your morning grapefruit, nice long low bitter finish, does not hold up to the bottom of the glass
clear copper, fine white head, solid lace, sweet citrus aroma, creamy body, rich hop flavor followed by tons of bitterness, enough caramel sweetness to provide a bit of a backbone but it’s all about the hops, best sample yet but still needs more hop flavor than the bitterness
