Commercial Description:
Our Brewers Reserve Alpha Pale Ale is very much in line with the beers from America’s North West – assertive bitterness together with a distinctive fruit and citrus aroma - except we’ve put a Matilda Bay spin on it. It has a big hop nose with citrus notes derived from the use of Cascade hops imported from North America. 35 IBU.

Amber Colouring with a good head. Dry, bitter citric flavouring with a hit of fruitiness.

Not a fan and won’t get again. Good colour and head. Typical Aussie APA flavour with extra bitterness at the end. Given I am not a fan of this style nor of too much bitterness was disappointing. However if you like the idea of a Little Creatures Pale Ale with more bitterness....

Draught. A dark copper with a large pure white foamy head. Sweet malt on the nose, but that is it. Juicy malt on the palate at first, some tropical fruits, then an earthy finish. Did not get the hops at all.

Straight forward, single hopped beer. Hardly any bitterness. Not exciting, but well made.

Pours dark amber with 15mm head that lasts. Aroma of barley honey. Tastes of burnt malt, a slighty stout-y flavour. Light herbs with hints of lime, thick grasses. End notes are of cream.

Bottle 345ml. Poured deep gold with off white head that lasted the beer out. Classic APA cascde hop aroma of tropical fruits and grass backed with sweet biscuity and caramel malts. Taste was bitter and of orange and mango. Finsh somewhat dry and light. Very well balanced, maybe a touch more bittering at the end to finsih it off. Excellent beer (but not the price).
