Commercial Description:
The name "Rooftop Red Lager" gets its inspiration from Paul Kelly's 'From a 727' where he sings about looking over the roofs of Sydney from a plane. Rooftop is a smooth, easy drinking beer that has a deep, natural red hue, derived from the use of some top grade specialty malts (cara-red and melanoidin). Rooftop is packed with toffee, nut and caramel flavours with a lovely spicy hop note that makes it very 'sessionable'.

love this little beer. a smooth drinking vienna style beer with a perfect balance between the mild roasted grain and the hersbrucker hops. introduce your megaswill drinking mates to it and they will soon be converted to the dark side, but remains complex enough for enjoyment by the most jaded beerophile..

...overall, a good beer, better on draft. Nice red color in the glass, with a nice sustaining head. Interesting malt complexity, and spicy notes make this an interesting beer.

Tasted 27/09/2007. 345ml bottle from BrewNZ. Brilliant cherry red with a disappearing light tan head. Mild aroma of dry toffee, grassy hops and a little red apple. More dry toffee in the mouth - a little thin - with a grassy, woody hop character. Medium bitterness. Carbonic. Little there to lift it up above average. The Monteiths of Australia.
